Who i Am.
First of all: thank you for stopping by and for checking out some of the projects I have been working on for the last couple of years. Feel free to navigate this site for information on my involvement in these projects and my individual creations.
I was born and raised in Germany by my mother, who was an artist (painter), and my father, who was working hard to support a family of five. I can honestly say that I hope to bring both of their best qualities together in my profession.
I dedicated my life to the creative process.
After working for a couple of years in graphic design and illustration, I decided to expand my area of expertise. I studied Media Design with a focus on 3D, Animation and VFX and got my bachelor’s degree in 2018. Right after graduating I landed my first job as a 3D artist to work on a feature film. Since then, I am dedicated to visual storytelling in all of it’s forms. Visual storytelling through pictures and animations is my passion. Helping people to tell their own story through VR and interactive design excites me.
In May 2024 i was accepted as a Member of the Visual Effects Society (VES) – a global professional honorary society and the entertainment industry’s only organization representing the full breadth of visual effects practitioners. Our goal is to revolutionize visual storytelling.
I have to understand.
A great motivator of mine is the drive to deconstruct the creative process – not to take the magic away, but because of an unquenchable thirst for knowlege to become a better artist and to understand the ways in which we come up with ideas. That’s why I added my Masters Degree in 2020 where I focused on media and design theory. You can download and read my thesis (in german language) here.
I love to learn as much as I love to teach.
I am fortunate to be in a position in my career where I feel comfortable to teach others about everything that I’ve learned in the realm of digital art and media design. During the winter semester 2023/24 I worked as a part-time substitute professor at the Hochschule Hannover – University of applied Science and Arts, where I still give courses today. I’m also an Academic Lecturer at the IU (International University). Software, tools, techniques and design fundamentals are important, but even more so I want my students to become confident creatives with a deep understanding of why we do what we do.
